In the 7th Episode of Shastrartha, I discuss Casual Casteism and Gender Insensitivity in Everyday Language with Pratyasha Rath, Abhinav Prakash and Abhijit Iyer. We try to understand the problems associated with language and its evolution. How we are used to uttering certain words as pejoratives which are casteist, sexist and homophobic. How do we deal with such problems? Do we legislate language itself? Or do we appeal to the better angels of our nature and go for a gradual societal change.
