In this podcast, Kushal speaks with Kartik Mohan about how Yugo Sako and Ram Mohan begin the Ramayana animation project in 1983. They talk about how its production took over about 9 years, including the problems it ran into with the then GOI’s license raj and the political environment of the times. They discuss the legacy of the Ramayana and how it had only a very short run in Indian theatres when initially released in 1992, but since then, it’s been televised on Indian channels every Diwali season and almost everybody of our generation has seen it.
