In this monologue, I am trying to float a hypothesis that has been brewing in my brain for a while. I have been reading a lot of material on different social/religious/political movements in India from multiple eras. And in this reading process, I started to see some trends. In my opinion, these trends show a pattern that made me hypothesize that Hindutva is Hindu Modernity. Is it perfect? Not at all. It is a work in progress, but it is a definitive attempt from within the Hindu society to modernise itself on its own terms.
